28 October - Sustrans 'tappas and tea'


11am -3pm at Firstsite in Colchester.

Sustrans are the organisation who developed and continue to be the champions of the National Cycle Network.  Almost 5 million people use the National Cycle Network and despite its name the network isn't just for cyclists it's also popular with walkers, Joggers, parents with pushchairs, wheelchair users, and horse riders too.  You can find a map of the National Cycle Network on the Sustrans website.

In Essex there are lots of Sections of National Cycle Network including around Colchester, Witham, Braintree, Great Dunmow, Stansted and Tilbury.  So if you live near any of these and are interested in finding out more about Sustrans then come along on Saturday 28th October and get involved!

Self-confessed petrolhead Ashley Parmenter learned to drive a car before he tried riding a bike at the age of 19. He likes having a car for long journeys but thinks the bike is best for short trips. And learning to cycle has also provided him with some interesting jobs.
